You’ll Never Be More Ready Than You Are Right Now

Appleton Wisconsin Boudoir

I have heard every excuse in the world about why women can’t do boudoir. I’ll be honest, I’ve made a few of them myself. But it’s time to fight those excuses once and for all!

No matter how old you are, it’s intimidating to do something you’ve never done before, whether it’s going up in a hot-air balloon or taking your clothes off in front of a complete stranger (I have yet to take a hot-air balloon ride, but hey! This might be the year!) But really, there is nothing to be afraid of. First, Being out of your comfort zone is something we’ve all been though. But do you remember how you felt after that first time – no matter what it was? It was AMAZING and I’ll bet you felt on top of the world!

Being fearful and holding back only keeps you from experiencing new things, something that might turn out to be the best thng you’ve ever done just for YOU. Don’t waste your energy on what could go wrong, but instead, have trust and think about what could go right!

A good photographer will never push you. If you aren’t comfortable yet, I get that and I work with you. I know how to break down your walls and have you FEELING ready!

You won’t look ridiculous. With MY guidance, you’re going to look amazing and if you think you couldn’t possibly feel sexy, think again.

The most common and frankly – silly – fear is caring what others might think. You’re doing this for YOU. Not everyone will understand WHY you’re doing it and that’s okay. Live for yourself and don’t worry about what others say or think.

To every woman out there who is waiting for the “perfect time”: there IS no perfect time. We’re all a perfectly imperfect mess. Don’t wait until it’s too late, do it scared.

Harley Boudoir/Glamour sessions are easy to set up. Want to set up your own session? Just email me or Facebook PM and we’ll get the ball rolling

Every one of the ladies in this post hold a place near and dear to my heart. The very first (and a couple of the others) are my very best friend and one of the most beautiful women I know. Whenever her photos grace my blog or FB feed, they blow up with comments. The photo up top is the photo that started it all. MsP needed a photo for a calendar. We had a half an hour. I took one shot and this was the photo that went in the calendar. This photo led to the opportunity to work with a local business and shoot their calendar for the next four years. One of the ladies is a very talented make-up artist, another is my tattoo girl and one of them is a community minded business owner.

And I love every one of them.

So … do you (or your SO) have a bike that you want to include in your session? It’s pretty easy to do. Just ride it over and we’ll roll!

How do you see yourself? Studio Rep Elizabeth says:
[pullquote width=”100%” float=”left”]”Hey everybody, I have to say I was extremely nervous and excited to see the finished personal portraits from my photo shoot. I so desperately wanted to see how I truly felt inside in a picture. What I did see was so much more than that. I saw my beauty and the smile that my husband always talks about.[/pullquote]

[pullquote width=”100%” float=”left”]You always think people say things because they are supposed to but I learned that it was genuine. When I saw the picture in the white dress I cried, that’s how I knew what I set out to do was a success. The surgery helped me get smaller, but it was confidence in myself that helped me realize who I am. I’m so glad I took this chance and am more than ecstatic to see what the future shoots bring ❤❤ thank you Jackee.[/pullquote]

How do you see yourself? Who is that person inside you? Is the person inside you who you see when you see a photo of yourself? Are you pleasantly surprised? Would you like to be? Personal portraits aren’t only for the people you love, they are for you, someone you should love because if you love yourself, you can better love others.

Body Image

Body image … what a powerful concept. Our generation, our daughters’ generation, has been bombarded for 40+ years about “body image”, yet I don’t think any of us know what it is, how important it is to our self esteem, how our view of our own bodies – OURSELVES – affects how our daughters see themselves.

Sometimes it’s not even what we see in the mirror, but what another says to us or about us that shapes our feelings. Even if we are truly beautiful (and really, we all are beautiful in some way) a word or sentence or even a look from our past can makes us shudder with the memory and blur the beauty that stares us in the face every day.

No one – not the cutest cheerleader, not Miss Wisconsin, not you, not me – are happy with what we see in the mirror

Change Your View

Every day, look in the mirror and comment on ONE thing you like about yourself. “Wow, I LOVE the color of my eyes.” “I have a great complexion.” “my posture is fantastic.” The more we compliment ourselves, the more self-esteem we gain and the more that nasty little voice i the back of our mind starts zipping it’s shitty little lip.
