Mother’s Day is past, but any time is a good time for Mother/Daughter portraits.
Stacey and her daughter were the sweetest match when we took their photos. While I was clicking away I kept think I wished I had photos of me and my mom and that I was so glad to have hundreds of my daughter and I. There is no more special bond than between that of a mother and daughter. Having images to document that relationship, to cherish forever, is a wonderful thing.
I met Stacey through a mutual friend and am so happy that I was a part of aking these special memories for her and her lovely daughter. I’m so pleased to share these images.
Mother/Daughter sessions are easy to set up. Want to set up your own session? Just email me or Facebook PM and we’ll get the ball rolling
Betsy is the epitome of fifty and fabulous. I was so happy when she agreed to have her portraits done … she’s one of those women that just don’t do things like that for themselves. Getting one of the most wonderful women I’ve ever been blessed in knowing in front of my camera last week was incredible, and we just had an absolute blast.
Thirty two years ago I met husband’s best friend’s wife and started a friendship that has carried on through the years. It’s one of those friendships that you can go months without talking and then when you do, it’s like you never stopped. She is kind and wise and about as crazy as I am. I adore her.
I did the original reveal over lunch at a local restaurant, then went to the house so her husband could choose his favorite.
Surprise of surprises, they both picked the same two favorites, independently of each other (the first two in the gallery).
I love shooting women in their forties and fifties. Many times they’ve lost a lot their inhibitions and have realized that they deserve to do something for themselves. A spa day is spectacular, but photos last forever.
This photo means more to me than anyone in it even knows. The world REALLY IS a small place.
MsKristi has been one of my favorite clients since she was pregnant with her first child. I took three photos from that session in 2014 (Igod, three years ago already) and turned it into one of my favorite framed pieces. It spent a lot of time in the window of my old studio and when it wasn’t in the window it was on the wall behind my desk. When the new studio was ready, it was one of the first to go up on the wall.
Kristi’s eyes are so beautiful and she was just FULL of excitement over the birth of her first child. That was Baby Boy.
Last fall she was one of the first clients in the new studio. She was expecting Baby Girl. Another of my favorites … the day was just getting done, the sky is gorgeous and here’s this beauty who just happens to love to hunt, in a frou-frou dress.
Now, here comes the “small world” part. Sometime over the course of the past three years, Kristi told me that her mom went to cosmetology school with me. The name was vaguely familiar, but I couldn’t put a face to it.
The minute she got out of the car, so many memories of that time in my life came rushing back. And during the shoot, Kim mentioned that she’d been pregnant with Kristi while we were in school. I just got goosebumps typing that.
And now I know where Kristi got her beautiful eyes from.
Who am I? I am a glamour photographer. What I do isn’t for everybody, but it is for YOU.
It’s for the woman who has NEVER liked a photo of herself. It’s for the daughter(s) who want a forever memory of their mom.
I do it for you, who think you have to use lose ten pounds (you don’t). I do it for you, who doesn’t feel comfortable on front of the camera (oh what fun we’ll have and the photos that come out of it will be spectacular!)
I am a glamour photographer for the every day woman. Your last beautiful photos don’t have to be from your graduation or wedding day.
What does that even MEAN? In this day of smart phones and iPads and laptop cameras – EVERYBODY exists in photos. It even feels kind of foolish to say:
“Exist in photos …” what the? We take pictures of ourselves EVERY.DAY.
But here’s the deal: The people who love you don’t want photos of you looking like a goomer. Your children will want photos of you to show THEIR children – and there are two reasons smartphone photos and Facebook photos aren’t going to cut it.
90% of photos on a phone, never come OFF the phone. And the ones that DO aren’t frame-worthy. They aren’t blow up and hang on the wall worthy
Facebook photos are great (even though they come from smartphones), and TimeHop is a wonderful thing … but are Facebook/TimeHop gonna be around for you to show your six year old what Grandma looked like?
Have you lost a parent or grandparent or loved one? Twice this year I’ve had to deliver photos to a family that lost a loved one unexpectedly … it’s heartbreaking.
It’s important to be in front of the camera. Take those selfies. Have your photos professionally done, even if I don’t do them. You know you spend more money on things that last much less longer than an image that will be come a family heirloom.
