Six months ago I had a stroke. If I wasn’t lazy I’d get up and find the medical term for the kind of stroke I had, but it doesn’t matter. What matters is how my life “is” now.
So how is it?
In a word … SCARY.
I sat down here A MONTH AGO to start setting things up to reopen the studio …
Besides the stroke, in the past six months I have managed to give myself a black eye, fall down the basement steps, start the porch on fire and totally nuke my original website and its email. To say it’s been interesting is putting it mildly.
But here’s the deal: I love what I do more than I’m afraid of what I can’t do.
I’ve been hinting at it and throwing out things here and there, but things really are going to be changing – A LOT – in the coming months.
Along with the new studio (yes, it’s a big mud-pit right now and Mother Nature alone knows how long it’ll be before the ground is dry enough to drive on), I’m running a weekend getaway. We’ll be spending a Saturday night/Sunday morning at a private cottage with a gorgeous lake and some beautiful nature where we can take your gorgeous photos. Exciting, right? That’ll be coming up in late June to mid-July and I only have space for three chickies, so if you’re interested email me at email@example.com for more information.
There MAY be a day trip to Manistique, MI, in late summer as well. Well, an afternoon trip to catch the sun right. It’s a three and a half hour drive, includes lunch and room for two sessions.
So keep THOSE in mind.
I’ll also be combining MadBee Photography & SassyBee Glamour Photography into one entity.
Three and a half years is more than enough time for me to take myself and my job seriously.
I am lucky enough to have the luxury of doing what I love to do and I need to take advantage of that. There aren’t very many people who can do what they love, whenever they want to and make other people happy at the same time. I am fortunate and blessed.
Headshots aren’t just for white collar professionals, anymore. Whether you own a small business, or work for a large corporation, a headshot is an important piece of marketing material. You need to present yourself as approachable and educated as to what you do.
A quickie iPhone shot isn’t gonna do that.
Additionally, Facebook isn’t the only place you need to have a headshot: your business card, your website, your Facebook business page and on your blog are just a few places where having a professional headshot can be an asset to your business.
Potential clients, no matter your business, will study your headshot, to see if they have a connection with you, if they feel comfortable with you.
Image is everything, and sadly, people DO judge you on your looks.
For thirty minutes and $100 you can have five professional headshots taken that can be used for your business website, your FB business page, your Link In profile … anywhere you need to identified and remembered.
Contact me via the form below and we’ll get you set up for your session at your office or my studio.

If you don’t hear from me within 60 minutes, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, put Headshot in the Subject line.
Yesterday I had the unexpected honor of photographing a very special family. Not only is Kim my dear son-in-law’s sister, but she is a funny, helpful and STRONG woman. She is my hero in so many ways, even if that big kid is crabby.
As much as I know it’s necessary, and even though I’ll still be taking photos, it’s breaking my heart to shut down my studio.
As I was setting up for today’s sessions and really feeling the effort, I realized it was for the best, but I was crying anyway … I’ve loved every session I’ve done there. I love how BigD worked so hard to give me the exact space I wanted and even built my “movable” walls, even though he thought I was crazy.
I love those of you who volunteered your time when I needed models and I really love those of you who spent your hard-earned cash and put your beautiful faces in front of my camera, sometimes more than once. Knowing that you have my work hanging on your walls does more for me than you’ll ever know.
I am sad to say that this week’s FINAL Boudoir Marathon has been cancelled.
This would be a good time to let you all know that SBG/MBP will be closing it’s doors on December 31, 2015. It’s been a lovely (nearly) three years and I’ve loved working with every last one of you.
I can’t say now what I’ll be doing in the coming year, because I don’t know. I like to hope that photography will be a part of it. I love taking photos and I love making women feel good about themselves. This past year has done so much for ME in that I’ve helped women see that they are beautiful no matter what THEY think they look like and I’ve made memories for many families for years to come.
Thank you so much for sharing your lives with me and and thank you for letting me make memories for your loved ones.
I’m hosting 2015’s FINAL Boudoir Marathon Wednesday, December 10 and Thursday December 11, 6pm both nights at 245 Main St. The sessions will be 30-45 minutes in length.
Over the year I’ve found that the less time we have to think about something, to more apt we are to just jump. I’m giving you that option 😉
The cost is 99$ for 5 (five) 4×6 professionally edited images with full printing rights (you receive your images on a disk with a print release). I choose the final five images and you will receive your disks 2-3 days after your session – more than enough time to have them printed for that special someone.
Hair and makeup with be available for an additional 50$, provided by myself; if booking makeup, I will need an hour to apply and prepare for your shoot!
I will have props available: shoes, robes, boas, hats, ties, gloves, baseball/football jerseys, etc – too many to mention. Please bring a sexy pair of panties (black and/or white) or anything else to personalize your shoot.
**AT THIS PRICE POINT, PAYMENT IN FULL IS REQUIRED TO RESERVE YOUR TIME SLOT (Contact me for details on how to make your payment ).
Dec 10 – 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, 9pm
Dec 11 – 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, BOOKED
[dropcap]W[/dropcap]anting something is one thing. Taking action towards it is a different story. Keep gratitude in your mind always. Do one thing everyday to support your Want/Goals list and lastly applied faith. Know you are worth the life you dream of and let it happen. Get out of your own way. Strive for what you really want. When you write down what you want and set it in your mind your blocks will come up fast and they will be very obvious that’s what you embrace and fix as soon as you can.
No one outside the photography industry knows who Sue Bryce is, but I do and I guess that’s all that matters. Every words she writes speaks to me, every photo she takes sings to me. If Jen is the person who got me started, Sue is the person who keeps me going. When I feel like no one is in my corner, when no one understands how much my goals and dreams mean to me, I go back and start re-reading her blog, I watch her videos AGAIN and I get off my ass and I go.
So I keep pushing, keep doing all I know how to do, all I’ve learned
I’ll spread my wings and I’ll learn how to fly
I’ll do what it takes ’til I touch the sky
And I’ll make a wish
Take a chance
Make a change
Out of the darkness and into the sun
But I won’t forget all the ones that I love
I’ll take a risk
Take a chance
Make a change
Nova has velvety brown eyes, full pouty lips and a sense of humor to die for.
Nova has creamy white skin and a booty some women would pay for.
Nova is sassy, funny and smart as a damn whip.
Nova is NOT skinny and blonde and she is a knockout.
Are Nova’s photos Photoshopped? Sure … I edit all of my work. But if you ran into her on the street, what you’d see there is exactly what you see here. Pure gorgeous.
My clients are real women of all ages and sizes … not just 20-something brides-to-be. My girls work in mills and insurance offices and correctional institutes. They tend bar, cut hair and ride motorcycles. They’re from 21 to 55 and the only thing they have in common is that they all have their own kind of beautiful.
