Perceptions – Who Are You?

Perceptions are amazing. In this day and age of “politically correct” thinking and the public’s outcry of “I am NOT judgemental!” I’ve found that people in general are more judgemental and women are MOST judgemental of themselves.

This first full session with Studio Rep Emily got us talking about first impressions, other peoples’ opinions and how we judge ourselves.

On any given day other people see us as we are THAT day, whether we are dressed for work, dressed for gardening or dressed for a quick run to the gas station for a gallon of milk at six o’clock in the morning. Anyone who sees us bases an opinion on us, whether they know us or not. I tell myself that it doesn’t matter, people who know me know that I don’t always look that way, but REALLY? Somewhere inside me I think everyone is stink eyeing me. Do you do the same thing?

The saying that you never get a chance to make a first impression isn’t as true as what we’ve been lead to believe, at least in a personal way, and never judge a book by its over has never been more true. We can recreate ourselves EVERY day. We can put ourselves out to the world and tell our story a day at a time.

Perception of Glamour

When someone judges you, it isn’t about you. It’s about them and their own insecurities, limitations and needs
