Mother’s Day Photos

This photo means more to me than anyone in it even knows. The world REALLY IS a small place.

MsKristi has been one of my favorite clients since she was pregnant with her first child. I took three photos from that session in 2014 (Igod, three years ago already) and turned it into one of my favorite framed pieces. It spent a lot of time in the window of my old studio and when it wasn’t in the window it was on the wall behind my desk. When the new studio was ready, it was one of the first to go up on the wall.

Kristi’s eyes are so beautiful and she was just FULL of excitement over the birth of her first child. That was Baby Boy.

Last fall she was one of the first clients in the new studio. She was expecting Baby Girl. Another of my favorites … the day was just getting done, the sky is gorgeous and here’s this beauty who just happens to love to hunt, in a frou-frou dress.

Now, here comes the “small world” part. Sometime over the course of the past three years, Kristi told me that her mom went to cosmetology school with me. The name was vaguely familiar, but I couldn’t put a face to it.

The minute she got out of the car, so many memories of that time in my life came rushing back. And during the shoot, Kim mentioned that she’d been pregnant with Kristi while we were in school. I just got goosebumps typing that.

And now I know where Kristi got her beautiful eyes from.
