About six weeks ago I was feeling so low, so unfixably unhappy that I decided that I just couldn’t take it anymore. and I decided to just end it all. I thought it would be better for the people I love to not have to put up with me and my problems; besides they didn’t understand what I was going through. No one could understand the absolute emptiness that filled me every day of my life.
All people saw was the jokester, the woman who acted hard ad tough and made jokes about everything. They didn’t see the woman who was dying inside and looking forward to it. Planning it, in fact.
Sometimes we go through life like we have all the time in the world. I am truly happy that I was rescued, because I was truly saved. I lived long enough to receive emails from two women I’d taken portraits of and they told me how my work had made them feel. I was reminded of my mission statement, written in the early days of remodeling my studio and has hung on my bulletin board next to my desk every day since. I’d just forgotten it until I heard from these two women. I only have a finite amount of time left in my life to fulfill that mission and I will by GOD do it.
I found this list and I’m going to print it out and follow it as my own personal mission statement; I can’t expect to make other people happy if I am not happy.
Watch me go, people.
